Bernie I Am Once Again Asking For Your Support Meme Template
The still comes from Bernie Sanders’s 2020 presidential campaign fundraising video posted to his social accounts on December 30, 2019, ahead of an FEC fundraising deadline. In the clip, Sanders asks for “your financial support.” Know Your Meme documents the quote’s shift into an image macro beginning in mid-January 2020, when users replaced the fundraising object with other requests; TIME describes its broader use to ask for help with everyday wants and needs. The MemeHub image already contains “I am once again asking,” so its one caption slot supplies the thing or action being requested. The CSV’s January 21, 2020 video date is not supported by the sources reviewed; the documented post date is December 30, 2019.

A square outdoor still of Bernie Sanders in a gray winter parka, facing the camera on a snowy residential street. “Bernie” branding appears in the upper-right corner, and the baked-in phrase “I am once again asking” sits near the bottom. The single editable caption box is below that phrase and completes the request.
How the joke works
There is one editable slot (slot-1), following the baked-in words “I am once again asking.” Put only the requested item, favor, action, or support in this slot, normally beginning with “for” or “to.” The joke usually comes from earnest persistence applied to a mundane or unexpectedly specific need; the original image’s serious direct appeal provides the contrast. Do not repeat the baked-in phrase or write a separate setup/punchline.
- Complete the baked-in “I am once again asking” with the specific item, favor, action, or support being requested.
Caption examples
- for the Wi-Fi password again
It cleanly completes the baked-in phrase and turns a familiar repeated favor into a compact, relatable ask.
- I am once again asking for the Wi-Fi password
It repeats the phrase already printed on the image rather than filling the one editable slot.
Situations it fits
- repeatedly asking for a small everyday favor
- asking for a commonplace item or piece of information
- making an earnest request about a work or school inconvenience
- humorously seeking help or support for a relatable need
When this format does not fit
- Do not repeat “I am once again asking”; those words are already baked into the image.
- Do not add a second caption role or an unrelated setup; this template has one editable slot that completes the request.
- Do not leave the request vague when a concrete object or action would make it relatable.
- Do not frame a harmful, coercive, or hateful demand as the joke.
