Fuck Me, Right? Meme Template

Know Your Meme traces the phrase to Seth’s line in the 2007 comedy Superbad and the image-macro format to a March 2012 Reddit post. The macro usually pairs an awkward confession, unpopular opinion, or minor self-inflicted failure with the resigned response “Fuck me, right?” The character’s strained laugh supports self-mocking exasperation: the speaker anticipates criticism and gets ahead of it. It can also describe bad luck, but it should feel like the speaker recognizes their own awkwardness rather than making a serious accusation or asking a literal question. The phrase is vulgar, so use the format only where that register fits.

A wide film still from Superbad shows Jonah Hill as Seth in a doorway, laughing with a strained, exasperated expression and gesturing with one hand. The frame has no text baked in. Two broad caption areas sit above and below the image.

Slot 1 (top) states a short awkward confession, unpopular take, or small foolish decision that invites judgment. Slot 2 (bottom) delivers the resigned, self-aware punchline, usually “FUCK ME, RIGHT?” and can be paraphrased when needed. Make the second line sound like the speaker’s reaction to the first. Use low-stakes and self-directed humor; the image’s strained laugh supplies the exasperation.

1. Top caption: confess an awkward, unpopular, or foolish low-stakes choice.
2. Bottom caption: react with resigned self-awareness, often “FUCK ME, RIGHT?”

• An embarrassing but harmless confession
• A mildly unpopular preference stated with self-awareness
• A small mistake the speaker immediately regrets
• Bad luck that feels especially awkward or self-inflicted

• Do not use a neutral everyday statement with no embarrassment, unpopular opinion, or failure.
• Do not make the confession a serious accusation against another person.
• Avoid high-stakes tragedy or harm; the image works best for low-stakes self-mockery.
• Do not interpret the phrase as a literal sexual request.
